A DECISION has been made to cancel this year's Carnforth Carnival.
The event was supposed to be held at the beginning of July, two weeks after lockdown restrictions are set to be eased completely.
The event will go ahead on July 2 next year.
"After much deliberation by the carnival team unfortunately we have decided not to proceed with Carnforth Carnival 2021," said an event spokesman.
"With the event being just two weeks after the easing of lockdown restrictions we feel it's just not the right time to hold such a large event.
"On a positive note it does give us lots of time to get some fun fundraisers booked in!
"The carnival is now scheduled to take place on Saturday 2nd of July 2022 and we promise to bring you the biggest and best carnival ever!"
