A HOTEL has invested in four dome structures to help their customers make the most of the eased lockdown rules.

The Melbreak Country House Hotel in Workington made the purchases to help expand their outdoor offering all year round.

A hotel spokesman said: "We have invested in four domes which will offer you an indoor/outdoor socialising space, making it more comfortable when it gets a little cooler in the evening.

"We are also awaiting delivery of canvas awnings to convert them into cabana style domes to use when the weather (hopefully) becomes a little warmer."

Bosses at the Winscales Road venue said they felt they had been closed for 'eternity' but with support they had been able to diversify they had seen great support for their takeaway food service.

The spokesman said: "We have been absolutely blown away with the support for our takeaway food service, and in particular the response to our takeaway tapas dishes, which have been extremely popular.

"Under normal circumstances, we would run a monthly tapas weekend; going forward, due to their popularity, a small selection of tapas and small plates will now appear on the restaurant menu as well as the continuation of the monthly events, where a larger selection of traditional tapas will be available."

During the lockdown head chef Richard Taylor introduced a small selection of artisan pizzas to our takeaway offering.

The domes will be available to hire from May 17.

The spokesman said: "We are feverishly working on packages and experiences for when you can finally get out and socialise indoors with someone other than a member of your own household.

"Until then though, the terrace and outdoor areas are available for drinks and cold snacks. Patio heaters are also available as well as super soft blankets to snuggle under.

"We are immensely grateful for the continued support we have had from the local community, and look forward to welcoming you back, familiar faces and new, whether that be to the terrace or to the restaurant mid-May."
