As businesses prepare to open their doors to the public once again, following months in lockdown, advice has been issued on how to do so safely and smoothly.

Copeland Borough Council has shared the top tips via its Shop Local page, urging traders to follow them for a successful reopening on April 12.

The key advice includes ensuring online business information and contact details are up-to-date; the business has a social media page to promote products and services; ensure the premises is ready to open safely, and follows Government guidelines; and check all food and hygiene certificates and systems are in place.

Other tips include ensuring staff are up-to-date with all procedures; make the premises look inviting to customers; and and ensure waste management contracts are ready.
