PROPOSALS to site six glamping pods on farmland has been lodged.

Eden District Council has plans for the proposal at Sandwath Farm, Kirby Stephen.

According to the design & access statement: "They are needed to vary the business and contribute to the local visitor economy, around Kirkby Stephen where more accommodation is needed.

"Pods for holidays would help to ease the pressure on housing stock for local residents.

"The local economy would benefit from the pod users buying local produce, eating out and visiting other attractions in the area and being close to the town of Kirkby Stephen by foot or bicycle.
