There is good news as a popular Chinese takeaway has restarted its long distance deliveries to Alston.
The Golden Dragon, in Newmans Way, Hexham, relaunched its services to the Alston and Allendale areas - about 22 miles - last week.
Many residents used the takeaway during the lockdowns.
Established for 15 years, it’s now under new management after long-serving former owner Wil Cheung stepped down.
In a recent social media post, the restaurant said: “We are a new team, with upgraded equipment and a slightly different way of preparing food.
“We have many years of experience and, working with the previous owners, are taking guidance and support initially to deliver as high as possible standards.
“The best way to enjoy our food is to not expect it to be the same as the previously, but see it as a new experience.
"We’re confident you’ll enjoy it.”
