Police are appealing for witnesses following an incident of theft that occurred in Penrith.

The incident occurred at about 3.50am on November 30 on Carleton Road, Penrith.

A sit on lawnmower was taken during the incident. It was then seen on Carleton Road and Pategill.

Officers are keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or anyone with dash cam footage.

A spokesman for Cumbria Police said: "A 15-year-old from Penrith was arrested on suspicion of theft and burglary with intent to steal. He has been released under investigation.

"A 16-year-old from Penrith was also arrested on suspicion of theft and burglary with intent to steal. He has been released under investigation."
