A FINANCIAL advice firm has made a series of videos to help Cumbrians open up during Talk Money Week.

Experts at the Carlisle-based Rachael Bell Wealth Management, Parkland Avenue, have made five free recordings to give people guidance on a range of issues, from pocket money to pensions.

They have been published throughout the week on the company's social media channels.

Rachael, the firm's principal, hopes the talks will provide a platform for people to have conversations about money between families, friends and work colleagues.

She added: “Money can be an uncomfortable subject for many.

Recent research shows that a quarter of people in relationships find it difficult to talk to their partner about finances, while fewer than one in five speaks to their other half about finances on a regular basis.

“But the reality is that people who discuss their finances openly with their family or adviser will make better and less risky financial decisions, have stronger personal relationships, help their children form good lifetime money habits and feel less stressed or anxious and more in control.”

One of the sessions is run by practice manager, Pam Brown, who will discuss issues like settling down with families and mortgages.

The initiative started on Monday and is run by the Money and Pension Service to help those that find it hard to speak about the subject.
