Police are hunting for a man who threatened a shop worker and took a shopping basket of tobacco.

The robber entered the One Stop Shop in Guildford Avenue, Lawns, at 8.30pm last night. He threatened an employee while loading a basket with tobacco before leaving without paying.

The suspect is described as a white man, around 5ft 8ins tall, of slim build and wearing a black and grey jumper, grey jogging bottoms, a dark-coloured baseball cap and a white face mask.

He was not carrying a weapon.

PC Carl Bond, from Swindon Community Policing Team, said: “Thankfully nobody was hurt during the robbery, but the staff working in the shop were left extremely shaken by what happened.

“If you recognise the man pictured, or you are aware of tobacco being offered for sale in suspicious circumstances, then please contact us.”
