Members of Maryport Coastguard Rescue Team and Whitehaven Coastguard Rescue Team were called out yesterday after a report of concern for a paddle boarder who had entered the water.

Rescuers made their way to the scene and on arrival they came across two wind surfers enjoying the day's weather.

The information was passed back and the ops room was satisfied that nobody was in danger, resulting in both rescue teams being stood down from the callout.

The coastguards would like to thank the called for their quick actions and for taking the right course of action when they spotted someone in potential danger.

The Coastguard Rescue Service is made up of volunteers and is part of HM Coastguard.

Anyone encountering a coastal, sea of cliff emergency should call 999 for assistance and and ask for the Coastguard.
