Christmas shopping in the market and purchase all of your Christmas cards, wrapping paper and gifts galore!

“Our butchers and greengrocers all take Christmas pre orders and many of traders have a Christmas savings club for those extra special items.

“It has never been a more exciting time for new businesses to set up in the market hall.

“The market has so much to offer our customers and there’s something new every time you step through the door.

“Two of our business have expanded in the market hall, AJA Hosiery has opened a second business in the market called AJA Babies selling a wide selection of baby wear and Sam’s Nightwear now has an even larger selection.

“Our market is more than just a place to do your shopping; we are community focused and we encourage our customers to come in and take a leisurely browse and spend time watching our artisan market makers at work.

“Thank you to all our loyal customers who have supported the market for many years and continue to do so in these difficult times, if you haven’t been in the market for a while, please call in, you’ll be amazed by the quality of our products and the wide variety of items on offer.

“We are one of the largest indoor markets in Cumbria and next year will mark 50 years since the Queen opened the new market hall.

“We are eagerly awaiting the Governments decision on our bid for the Future High Street Funding which could see a complete re-modernisation of Barrow Market Hall.

"I’d just like to add that if anyone is thinking of setting up their own business we still have a small selection of vacant units.

“Please ring me at the market office on 01229 876555 to find out more information abut the available units.”
