A group of photography enthusiasts have shown that you don't need to get together - or even leave the house - to create great images.

Workington and District Camera Club was forced to cancel its planned summer activities due to Covid-19.

But chairman Brian Coley made sure members still had the chance to share their creativity and interact with one another by setting regular challenges. Beginning with the colours of the rainbow and then broadening out the themes, Brian set a subject a month for members to get creative with.

The photos from the non-competitive challenges were then displayed in a Lockdown Galleries 2020 section on the club's website.

Brian said: "It's been a way of keeping in touch with members while we were unable to meet for summer outings."

The club usually holds weekly meetings from September until April, and its new season will begin tomorrow with a socially-distanced get-together in the garden of one of the members.

That will be followed, from Friday, September 18, by a variety of meetings, talk and competitions, all taking place via Zoom until at least the end of the year. Anyone interested in joining the club, taking part in any of the Zoom meetings, or looking at more of their lockdown photographs, can find out more at www.workingtonanddistrictcameraclub.co.uk
