OFFICERS are investigating a 'suspicious incident' in Kendal involving an 83-year-old woman.
A Cumbria Constabulary spokesman said the woman was approached by 'two younger women' on Stricklandgate on August 8 at around 5.20pm
The spokesman said one of the two women grabbed the 83-year-old's arm and 'wrapped a piece of costume jewellery round her wrist'.
He said: "It is unclear what the women's intentions were, so officers are appealing for any witnesses or people with information to come forward."
Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101, quoting incident number 165 of August 12. Alternatively, Crimestoppers can be called anonymously on 0800 555 111.
