The town centre Poundland store has closed after confirming two positive cases of Covid-19 in 48 hours.
A spokesman told the Adver the store had been closed and deep-cleaned but will remain closed for the foreseeable future due to a lack of trade.
He added: "We obviously wish the colleagues well and we’ve offered other colleagues our support.
"As other colleagues self-isolate, we’ve obviously had challenges ensuring adequate staffing levels, but the decision to hibernate the store was also partly because footfall at Swindon hadn’t returned to levels that would make sense to keep it open.
"We’ve already carried out a deep clean of the store and we’ll re-open it as soon as it makes sense and it’s appropriate to do so."
