CHURCHGOERS will once again be able to visit St John's Methodist Church from this weekend.

As of Sunday, August 16, the church will open its doors for worship for the first time in four months.

While visitors will be able to attend, social-distancing measures will be in force.

Church volunteer Chris Crowther explained the measures in place.

"All the doors will be kept open, so no one needs to touch handles and for ventilation," said Chris.

"Please wear a face covering unless you have medical reasons not to do so.

"Hand gel will be provided at the main door for use as you enter the building.

"For track and trace purposes a record will be kept of those attending but destroyed after a month.

"A one-way system will be in operation, meaning that we ask everyone to enter via the main door and exit via the schoolroom door.

"Some pews have been roped off and all cushions and runners have been removed.

"We ask that you bring nothing with you that you do not immediately need and anything you do bring needs to be taken away, by you, at the end of the service.

"Please remain in your seat until the end of the service.

"Unfortunately, we will not be serving refreshments at the end of the service.

"The service will be taken by our minister, Rev Rob Weir, and will be shorter than usual, about 40 to 45 minutes."
