A West Cumbrian man has been banned from driving for four years and tagged for 18 weeks after he admitted a string of offences including drug-driving and stealing.
Paul David Bates, 48, of Howgill in Gosforth, appeared at the magistrates court in Workington on Monday and admitted the following offences:
n Driving while unfit through drugs on September 23 on the A595 in the New Mill area of Ponsonby, near Gosforth
n Possessing a quantity of class C drug Rivotril on October 24 in Whitehaven
n Stealing three ornaments belonging to Michael Crewsden and a delivery of clothes belonging to Carmel Bowman on the same day
n Driving with Diazepam in his system on October 24 at Kirkstone Road in Whitehaven
As well as the ban and the curfew, Bates was handed a fine of £70 and ordered to pay a £90 surcharge to fund victim services and £85 for court costs.
