A popular distillery have made the difficulty decision to temporary close to visitors with immediate effect.

The Lakes Distillery, near Bassenthwaite has announced they are closing temporarily to visitors.

It has become clear to staff that it is everyone's responsibility to help reduce the spread of coronavirus and therefore took the decision to suspend tours and close the doors of the Bistro for a period of time.

However, the on-site shop will remain open 10am to 4pm.

The Lakes Distillery are also offering a free personal home delivery service for the CA postcode region.

Teaming up with House of Malt they are able to sell the products and those at the distillery will deliver to homes free of charge.

The idea is to help those self-isolating and social distancing.
