SIX engines from the north of the county were scrambled to a fire near Longtown.
Crews from Carlisle East, West and Longtown were alerted to the chimney fire at a property near the border town just after 10.45am on Tuesday.
A spokesman from Cumbria Fire and Rescue said: "Firefighters used one hose reel jet and chimney gear to extinguish the fire.
"The crews were in attendance for 95 minutes."
