Police are hunting a hit and run driver after a crash on the A69.

Officers have launched an investigation into the crash, which happened at the junction with Plains Road near Warwick-on-Eden, at about 4.30pm on November 25.

A spokeswoman from Cumbria Police told The Cumberland News: “We are investigating a fail-to-stop road traffic collision on the A69.

“A male cyclist, who was cycling east, was struck by high-speed from behind, causing him to come off his bike and break his arm.

“The vehicle involved then failed to stop at the scene, and proceeded through Warwick Bridge.

“Police are attempting to gather details on the vehicle involved, and wish to speak to anyone who witnessed this incident.

“We’re especially looking for two males and two females who stopped and assisted the victim.”

No further details about the crash have been released.

Anyone with information about the incident, or who may have witnessed it, is asked to call Cumbria Police on 101, and ask to speak to PC 2432, quoting log number 71 of November 25.
