AN 18-YEAR-OLD girl has been taken to hospital with serious injures after a crash on the A689.

The incident, which involved a Vauxhall Corsa, happened near to the Brampton turn-off at about 11pm on Friday.

A spokesman from Cumbria Police told the News & Star: "An 18-year-old female passenger was taken to the Cumberland Infirmary in Carlisle with serious injuries, although they are not believed to be life-threatening/life changing.

"The male driver and another female passenger suffered minor injuries."

The road was closed for a short time and drivers were diverted while police and emergency services attended.

Any witnesses should call police on 101, and ask to speak to PC 1724 Dumphreys, quoting log number 204 of November 29.
