Hospice at Home West Cumbria has praised staff at Kaefer Ltd after they hit a £10,000 landmark in their fundraising efforts for the charity.

Kaefer, based at Westlakes Science Park, Moor Row, has raised the five-figure amount in just two years to support the hospice’s vital work in the area.

Stella Walsh, community fundraising team leader for Hospice at Home West Cumbria said: “We are overwhelmed by the commitment of Kaefer Ltd and its employees, and would like to thank the team who generously support us and always get involved in any way they can.

“We really appreciate and value all that they give and do. We have some excellent relationships with local businesses in west Cumbria and are always looking to build new connections and form corporate partnerships.”

Since September 2017 Kaefer staff have volunteered in various roles to help the organisation, taken part in the charity’s fundraising events, gave financial gifts and raised incredible amounts through sponsorship.

Kaefer Ltd business graduate Ashleigh Hoyle said: “Kaefer Ltd feels it is important to support charities that have had an impact on their employees and the communities in which they live.

“Hospice at Home services could be needed by any of us or our loved ones during our lives and they have helped some of our employees through these difficult times.

“The fundraising team are exceptional at organising charity events that we thoroughly enjoy taking part in. The events are great at improving employee morale, whilst raising money for a fantastic cause.

“We would like to thank all of our staff for their ongoing support, and we look forward to continuing to support Hospice at Home West Cumbria in the future.”

The charity which provides end of life care for people in west Cumbria, rely on support from businesses in the community to help fund their services which are provided free of charge. Services include home nursing, family and bereavement support, complimentary therapy and specialist lymphoedema care.
