Carlisle United are set to travel to Rangers for a reserve friendly next Tuesday.

The game is set to be played at the Glasgow side’s training centre.

Gers manager Steven Gerrard plans to use a number of senior players. United’s Steven Pressley, who started his playing career at Ibrox, said: “We have a game up at Murray Park on the Tuesday.

“I don’t know if I’ll be able to get to it, because we’ll have a group training here [at Carlisle] but Gav Skelton will take the group there.

“I’m aware Rangers are going to play four or five of their players who are on the periphery of their team, that need game time.

“This is 100 per cent the type of game I want for our young players who we are trying to improve.”
