An up-and-coming accountant is counting his accolades.

Daniel Wilde, 31, works at Saint & Co in Carlisle and was named third in the Order of Merit category at the Northern Society of Chartered Accountants graduation and prize giving, which acknowledges the highest achieving students in the North of England.

He has also been shortlisted for the Presidents’ Award Professional Stage and will find out if he has won at the Northern Society awards dinner, taking place next week in Newcastle.

Daniel said: “I quite unintentionally fell into a finance role in a previous employment, found that I enjoyed it and wanted to do more, and reach higher.

“I took myself to college to study accounting and quickly knew that I wanted to become a chartered accountant.”

Saint & Co, as members of the Northern Society of Chartered Accountants, is authorised on behalf of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales to train chartered accountants.

Saint & Co partner Stuart Farrer said: “We are very pleased that Daniel has achieved the success his hard-work and effort deserves.

“He has managed to juggle his personal commitments and family life, while studying and working full time at the same time to achieve some very high marks in his professional exams.

“We are constantly striving to ensure we can give our clients the best advice possible and to do so involves having a number of well qualified staff who can all keep up to date and bounce ideas off one another.”

Daniel still has exams to pass but added he was looking forward to the opportunities for development at Saint & Co.
