The classic movie Cinema Paradiso will get a special screening at the Keswick Alhambra this weekend, to celebrate the renovation of the auditorium and in tribute to former owner Tom Rennie.
The showing is a private event to thank the Friends of the Alhambra and those who supported the crowdfunding campaign for the work and the local contractors who carried it out.
"The film is a nostalgic ode to cinema, and Tom's favourite film, so we thought it a very fitting choice," said Alan Hasler who took over management of the Alhambra alongside Carol, Tom Rennie’s daughter, last year after Tom's 28 years at the helm.
Carol said: "It has been a dream team. We have been able to run the cinema virtually as usual for all but three weeks of the three-month operation. And the results speak for themselves!"
