FASHION chain River Island has revealed the opening date for their new store in Carlisle.
The shop will open in a new, bigger unit, situated within The Lanes Shopping Centre this weekend.
While an opening time has not yet been confirmed by the store, signs placed on the windows state it is set to open to customers on Saturday.
It will take up part of a unit formerly occupied by clothing retailer New Look.
Earlier this year, the large New Look unit was split into three to attract retailers not wanting a huge space to fill.
New Look moved to a new store on Grapes Lane inside the shopping centre, while next door to the new River Island unit will be taken up by German footwear chain Deichman.
The shoe store is set to open its doors later this autumn.
It was hoped that the third unit might be taken on by a food retailer, such as a cafe or restaurant, but an operator has yet to be found.
The News & Star has contacted River Island for a comment on the opening.
