A financial management firm has been given a major accolade for the way it treats its staff.
The Financial Management Bureau, in Kendal, has been given gold status by Investors in People.
Every three years the firm is assessed in a process which includes an anonymous survey of staff, a review of its business strategy and HR procedures as well as face to face interviews.
Gill Forrester, director of HR and compliance at FMB, said: “I’ve been heading up our work with IIP since the beginning and I can honestly say it’s had more impact on our business than anything else we have done.
"We provide a service that revolves around people.
"If our people are the best they can be, then so is our service.”
FMB has been accredited by Investors in People for over 20 years.
When the criteria was updated to be more rigorous and include tiered awards in 2016, FMB was awarded silver status.
