An event to help businesses increase their employee engagement will be held later this month.

The Cumbrian branch of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development is hosting the workshop in Penrith on September 25.

It is aimed at people who have responsibility for staff or for developing people-related strategies, and will explore how employee engagement can transform the performance of organisations and those who work in them.

The event, which is sponsored by local specialised business law firm Baines Wilson LLP, will be guided by key speakers in the industry including Nicholas Haines, the creator of The Vitality Test and Baines Wilson employment partner, Tom Scaife.

Learning from over two decades of research and experience, gained with leading organisations from around the world, CIPD will explore how the employee experience has evolved – and continues to evolve – in a fast changing world.

Eileen Kershaw, vice chair of CIPD Cumbria branch, said: “We hope that this event will give attendees the tools and techniques needed to develop an aligned, engaged and therefore productive workforce.

"We are passionate about championing better work and working lives, so believe the event will provide a great insight into how to create the culture and working practices needed for organisational success.”

The event will take place from 9am to 4pm at the Rheged Centre. cumbria-events@cipdbranch.co.uk
