A new non-executive director has joined the board of Enterprise Answers.

Simon Haley, managing director of SRH Agribusiness Limited, has been appointed to the board of the independent organisation providing financial services across the region, with the aim of creating ‘social improvement and business development returns.’

It is Cumbria’s only community development finance institution and the only rural CDFI in the north of England.

Based in Penrith, it is led by chief executive Grahame Latus.

It works with organisations throughout the region to ensure the businesses it works with have access to a range of support services.

These include British Business Bank, The Family Business Network, Lancaster and District Chamber of Commerce and Invest in Eden.

Mr Haley said: “Enterprise Answers has identified the rural industry as a key growth sector that the team can work with more closely in providing support.

“I am delighted and honoured to have been approached to assist in providing insight and guidance in ways in which we can achieve this. There is a fantastic entrepreneurial spirit within farming and rural enterprises, and I believe we can help them thrive further through our support.”

As a non-executive director, he will use his experience in the agricultural sector advising businesses.

Mr Latus added: “We are delighted that Simon has joined our board.

“His diverse range of experience, skill, knowledge and connectivity will prove valuable, as we strive to position Enterprise Answers as a responsible lender and reputable business support provider within the region we cover.”
