A BARROW nursery is expected to get the go-ahead next week for a new extension.
Ramsden Robins at Ramsden Infant and Nursery School in Thwaite Street is seeking planning permission from Barrow Borough Council.
It plans to create a ‘modest side extension’ to the nursery building for a classroom, kitchenette, staff room and an outside playground area.
It would measure 4.5m by 7.85m with a maximum height of 3.7m, according to documents to the council’s planning department.
The playground extension would have a footprint of 2.7m by 3.5m.
A report by Charles Wilton, the council’s principal planning officer, said the proposed extension was far enough away from neighbours not to have a direct impact.
“There is already an outside play space so the modest extension to it should have little impact,” said his report.
The planning committee has been asked to agree the application when it meets on Tuesday, September 10.
