A SKILLS and training provider has partnered with the county council to help people across Cumbria get back into work.

PHX Training partnership has been selected by Cumbria County Council to deliver vocational training courses to adults across the county in a bid to reduce local unemployment.

The partnership is funded from the council’s adult education budget in an effort to boost local employability skills across the region, as well as reskilling individuals who are looking to find new work in different roles.

PHX Training, which has training centres in Barrow, Carlisle and Workington, will provide vocational training courses to help adults find work in sectors like hospitality, customer service and retail.

Shirley Williams, Development Director at PHX Training, said: “Partnership working between training providers and local councils can make a real difference in helping more local people find jobs and it’s great to see Cumbria County Council taking such a positive approach to reducing unemployment."
