A SMALL village care home that supports people with learning disabilities has been rated "good" by national inspectors.
Gatesgarth at Little Broughton provides personal care and accommodation to five people. The home is a bungalow in a community setting, designed to promote people's inclusion and independence.
The Care Quality Commission (CQC) carried out a recent inspection and rated it good in all areas.
Inspectors said: "People received a consistently good service and felt safe with the support they received from the staff.
"Staff had developed caring and trusting relationships with people, with many employed in the home for over ten years and more. There was a strong, visible, person-centred culture."
Gatesgarth staff were also praised by the CQC for the way they support residents to have maximum choice and control of their lives in the least restrictive way possible.
