A Cumbrian engineering firm has joined household names from across the country in battling it out for a national award.

TSP Engineering, in Workington, has been shortlisted for the Achieving Customer Value category at this year’s The Manufacturer MX Awards.

The firm has been shortlisted alongside companies such as Aston Martin Red Bull Racing, Weetabix, and commercial printer Bluetree Group.

The awards invite businesses across the UK to enter an array of categories.

The Achieving Customer Value category recognises businesses which can demonstrate how customer strategy has contributed to increased growth, innovation, operational excellence and improved delivery and engagement within the company.

John Coughlan, chief executive of TSP Engineering, said: “TSP Engineering are delighted to receive the news that we have been shortlisted in the UK’s most prestigious business awards alongside companies such as Siemens Industrial Turbomachinery and 2 Sisters Food Group.

"It shows the dedication of the people working at TSP Engineering, and how serious they are about fulfilling and delivering customer requirements.

"We are extremely proud of the team here at TSP, as without their daily drive, hard work and commitment we wouldn’t be able to gain these achievements."

Robin Davies, head of international and sector solutions for Santander UK, which is the official banking partner of the awards, said: “Our commitment to UK manufacturing and the wider sector remains strong in 2019.

"Once again, we’re proud to be supporting these tremendous awards at a time when despite the economic uncertainty, the success of the manufacturing industry is fundamentally important to UK economic growth.

"It’s incredibly rewarding to see such diversity and innovation in those companies who have made the shortlist.

"We wish them all good luck and look forward to celebrating with them in November at the awards.”

The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony and gala dinner on November 14 in Liverpool during Digital Manufacturing Week.
