A man arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and wounding with intent following a stabbing in Wigton remains in custody.
The 49-year-old man was arrested following the incident, which left a man in intensive care and two others with knife wounds, yesterday.
He remains in police custody while investigations continue.
Three people, two men and a woman, were injured in the incident.
The woman was injured on Church Street, while the two men were injured on King Street.
It happened just before 2pm yesterday, with police closing part of the town.
Of the three who suffered stab wounds, two were airlifted to hospital.
The second man was taken to Preston Royal Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. He is in a stable condition.
The injured woman was treated at the scene by paramedics.
Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses, or anyone with dash cam or CCTV footage, to come forward.
