Some of Cumbria’s most-loved attractions, businesses and institutions are set to be showcased to nearly 30m people at the North’s biggest airport.

Manchester Airport has launched its More than an Airport campaign, which will see local people, businesses, tourist attractions, charities and other organisations feature in a series of images that will be displayed at the site.

The images will also be used across social media, online and at various sites across the whole of the north.

Those featuring include Cumbria Tourism, Cumbria LEP, Playdale Playgrounds, Hawkshead Relish, Grasmere Gingerbread and Kendal Nutricare.

Andrew Cowan, chief executive of Manchester Airport, said: “To many people, Manchester Airport is the place they pass through each time they go on holiday or away for business.

“What we are trying to bring to life with this campaign is the many ways in which the airport benefits the communities, towns and cities it serves.

“That ranges from the work we do with schools and charities to the employment, training and career opportunities we provide to people of all backgrounds across our catchment area.

“We are also proud to play a role in helping getting products made in Cumbria on shelves in all four corners of the world, as well as helping to showcase this fantastic part of the world to international visitors.

“What the More Than campaign has done is enable us to fully understand the many ways in which the international connectivity we provide truly makes the North a great place to visit and do business with.”
