Rain is set to continue this weekend - but temperatures are on the rise.
The Met Office is predicting persistent rain will continue tomorrow, with potentially heavy showers on Saturday and Sunday.
But it says there will be some sunny spells, and the cold temperatures will subside.
This weekend's events include the popular Cumberland Show in Carlisle on Saturday.
Those attending are advised to dress for rain, but forecasters say there will be some breaks from the showers.
Saturday looks to be the best day, with heavier showers on Sunday.
A Met Office spokesman said: "From Friday morning there is a steady band of rain moving through the UK.
"It will be persistent rain, but breaking down into showers.
"That will bring a combination of sunshine and showers .
"Temperatures will be a bit warmer, at 16 to 17 degrees, which is back towards the average for the time of year."
He added: "On Saturday, there looks to be a more organised band of showers moving in but nothing like what we've seen through thsi week. By evening there might be a chance of brightness.
"There are no weather warnings in place."
