A partner at a Cumbrian chartered accountancy firm is celebrating 15 years with the company.

Julie Osborn joined David Allen as an accounts assistant in 2004 and has been promoted three times during her time there.

She gained her Association of Accounting Technicians and Association of Taxation Technicians qualifications while working at the firm, which has offices in Dalston, near Carlisle, Penrith, Dumfries and Workington.

As well as managing the sole traders and partnership accounts teams, she also heads up the VAT team and is involved with recruitment and apprenticeships.

She works closely with small businesses and start-up businesses providing advice and support.

Miss Osborn, 35, of Mawbray, said: “Having worked my way up through the business, I am very aware of the importance of good training, staff development and a clear career plan. As a result, I am fully committed to sharing my knowledge with staff and ensuring they receive the best training and support to develop their own careers.

“I also hope to pass on some of my wisdom around customer care and provide the best service we can to our clients.

“The past 15 years has flown by and has been an exciting journey for both myself and the David Allen team.

“I am looking forward to the next 15 years as the team continue to expand.

“As the firm grows there will be more opportunities for our team and as a partner I am proud to shape these opportunities.”

Managing partner Alison Welton added: “We offer amazing opportunities for our people and Julie’s development to date is testimony to that.”
