Food delivery giant Uber Eats has confirmed it is launching in Carlisle - tomorrow.

The popular service is available in 35 countries and many cities across the UK and will now be in Carlisle.

People place orders from a local restaurant through a mobile app or website and then a courier delivers the food to your door.

Uber Eats will offer delivery from local favourites including Hell Below, The Script @ No. 4 and Los Locos. The full list of restaurants has not yet been published.

The app is powered by the same technology found on the Uber transport app in major cities, meaning no cash is required. People can track their delivery and pay (and tip) using the same account you use for Uber journeys.

The app is available every day of the week from 8am to midnight.

The Uber Eats app also offers "flexible work opportunities" for those with bikes or scooters, choosing when and where they want to work.

Toussaint Wattinne, general manager of Uber Eats in the UK, said: “We have been blown away with how popular the app has been in Newcastle so we’re really excited to be expanding further into Carlisle.

"People can now get great food at the touch of a button delivered straight to their home or office. We have partnered with plenty of restaurants, so we hope there will be something for everyone’s tastes.”
