James Fisher and Sons, the Barrow-headquartered marine firm, has announced Aedamar Comiskey will become a senior independent director, taking over from David Moorhouse, who stood down last month.
Aedamar has been an independent non-executive director of the company since November 2014 and is chairman of the remuneration committee.
She is also a member of the nomination and audit committees.
Aedamar is global head of corporate and a member of the executive committee at Linklaters LLP.
She became a partner of the international law firm in 2001.
Malcolm Paul, chairman of James Fisher and Sons, said: “Aedamar’s commercial experience, coupled with her legal background means she is perfectly placed to take on this important role for the company.”
