PROGRESS: Salthouse Pavilion is being converted into a church
BUILDING work is continuing to convert a former bingo hall into a church.
Spring Mount Christian Fellowship, currently based in Abbey Road, was granted planning permission in 2015 to transform the Salthouse Pavilion in Salthouse Road.
The fellowship bought the building, in Salthouse Road, at auction for £97,000.
The church, which has around 150 parishioners, plans to hold its main Sunday service at the old cinema, which was latterly a bingo hall for 11 years before it closed in 2012.
