A VIDEO of two women being arrested after allegedly fighting in a Barrow working men’s club has attracted hundreds of thousands of views.

The video, uploaded to Facebook and shared more than 2,600 times, shows a number of police officers attempting to remove the women from Preston Street Club.

The post has attracted more than 2,700 comments and has been viewed an incredible 374,000 times.

It appears to have been filmed on Wednesday evening and is captioned by the original uploader, whose profile suggests he is from Durham, with the comment: “Just a normal night out in Barrow-in-Furness.”

The women appear to resist arrest, with one asking why she was being dragged out by a police officer, and in attempting to break free they both end up on the floor.

The fracas is witnessed by a number of bemused locals.

The man who uploaded the video to Facebook can be heard laughing as the incident continues.

At least three police officers are involved in arresting the two women.

The level of police response to the incident has been questioned by some with one eye-witness claiming eight police vehicles were called to the scene.

The video has led a number of people to express their disgust at the women’s behaviour.

Lucy Simmons said: “I’ve never been more embarrassed to live here.”

Christine Kell added: “Disgusting behaviour.”

“Classy Barrow,” said Ben Anderson.

The slapstick, almost comical, actions of the women also attracted comments.

Christian Simpson said: “Just needs some Benny Hill music.”

One of the women involved in the bizarre fracas appeared to have been tagged in The Mail’s post although she has not responded.

The Mail has contacted Cumbria Police for a statement about the arrests and why they were called.

It is understood both women were arrested on suspicion of assault and a public order offence.
