MOTORISTS will face four months of roadworks on the M6 in Cumbria.
Highways England is spending £7m on repairs along the M6 near Carlisle.
The work includes resurfacing the carriageway, upgrading the roundabout at Junction 44 and installing an improved noise barrier.
Work will start on Monday April 1 and is expected to be completed by August.
The northbound and southbound carriageways between junctions 44 and 45 north of Carlisle will both be resurfaced.
The roundabout at Junction 44 will also be resurfaced and have improved road markings painted.
A new acoustic barrier will be installed along the northbound carriageway near Todhills.
The work will involve overnight lane closures and some speed restrictions past the roadworks.
