KESWICK Music Society is staging a half-term family concert by Ensemble 360 at Theatre by the Lake on Sunday (3pm) with a mountain goat centre stage. An hour of fun for the family, Giddy Goat is a theatrical story for children, narrated, with live music and screen projection, with a lot of audience participation, songs and actions. Giddy is a mountain goat who has no head for heights and can't join in the games of his fellow rock climbing goats who know no fear and can leap plunging ravines. Tickets are free for under 18s. A TRIO of Cumbria's best are in the spotlight for Furness Tradition's opening show of 2019 staged at Ulverston's Coronation Hall, tonight (7.30pm). On the bill are Mike Willoughby’s power trio Raving Rock, who offer up new music steeped in folk with a contemporary edge. The Wierdstring Band, who sing about anything from love and time travel to the ancient art of worm charming. Plus, Stooshie who blend fiddle tunes with bass and percussion. Box office 01229-587140.

PIANIST Clare Hammond is the next Kendal Midday Concert Club guest, taking to the town hall stage next Wednesday, February 20 (1pm). Clare has performed in concert halls and festivals across Europe, frequently broadcasts on BBC Radio 3 and other European networks and in 2016 was awarded the Royal Philharmonic Society’s Young Artist award. Her programme includes Haydn's Piano Sonata in C and Bee’s Wedding by Mendelssohn.
