Marks & Spencer has confirmed its Barrow store will be closing at the end of this year.
After consulting with colleagues on the proposed closure, a spokeswoman for the company has confirmed the store on Dalton Road will close at the end of this year.
An M&S spokeswoman said: “Proposing to close M&S Barrow was a difficult decision.
"Over the past few weeks we’ve been consulting with our colleagues and, following this rigorous process, the decision has been made to close our store at the end of this year.
“We’d like to thank our customers, the local community and their representatives for the feedback they’ve given.
"We hope to see lots of customers continuing to shop with us at our other stores in the region, including our new Foodhall in Ulverston, which will open later this year, and on M&S.com.”
The closure of store on Dalton Road is part of M&S' programme to reshape its UK store estate.
