Westmorland Limited, which owns Tebay Services on the M6, has reported robust growth over the last year.
The company, which also owns the Rheged Centre and Gloucester Services on the M5, said turnover increased to £100m in 2018 up from £96m in 2017.
The company also expanded its management team, increasing pay ahead of the National Living Wage and made charitable donations of £175k to Cumbria Community Foundation and £478k to Gloucestershire Gateway Trust. It said as a result, profit on ordinary activities before taxation fell slightly to £5.1m compared to £5.8m in 2017.
At the end of 2018, Westmorland completed the redevelopment of Cairn Lodge Services on the M74 in Scotland, which it acquired at the end of 2014.
This includes the opening of a new farmshop and kitchen serving food for travellers, as well as a new filling station and deli.
Chair of Westmorland, Sarah Dunning, said: "It has been another year of robust trading and some exciting developments, particularly at Cairn Lodge Services in Scotland. Despite market uncertainties, we look forward to another year of progress, with some exciting new developments planned."
