An Ambleside hotel has been awarded a third AA Rosette for its dining experience.

AA inspectors said the food offering of the Rothay Manor Hotel was of an exceptional standard.

The restaurant is led by head chef Daniel McGeorge.

Inspectors said they were impressed by Daniel’s traditional menu with a modern twist, and highlighted the consistency and balance of flavours as being among the reasons they agreed to increase the hotel’s number of rosettes.

Daniel said: “I’m so pleased that the hard work of my team has been recognised.

"It’s a real testament to the effort they put in and I’m immensely proud to count them among my colleagues.”

Jamie Shail, who owns and manages Rothay Manor with his wife Jenna, added, “We’re so pleased for Daniel and his team and we’re sure today’s announcement will see more food-lovers flock to our hotel to enjoy the fine-dining experience Daniel and his team work so tirelessly to provide to our guests.”
