The chairman of one of Britain's best known bread makers will be the key speaker at a networking event.

Jonathan Warburton, of bakers Warburton's, will address the LA23NET event in Windermere on the theme of Bread, Business and Being Bold.

The event is organised by Janett Walker and Sophia Newton of the village's firm Flock PR.

Janett said: “LA23NET has gone from strength to strength and it is always encouraging that business people engage with our alternative approach to networking.

"Sophia and I are genuinely thrilled to be welcoming Jonathan Warburton. Warburton’s is one of Britain’s most respected and valued businesses and the story is inspiring, educational and full of stimulation for our own businesses, especially given the recent investments and future ambitions of the company. Thankfully we have extra capacity for this event as we expect an extremely strong turn-out, whether it be from regular attendees or those who would just like to hear from Jonathan Warburton.”

Jonathan is an active member of the fifth-generation family business which was founded in 1870. Warburton’s has doubled in size in the last decade alone, producing and distributing over two million products a day across their 12 bakeries and 14 depots.

During the last 10 years they have invested over £400m, £20m of which was directed to Warburton’s Burnley bakery which can produce 34,000 individual items an hour.

The event will take place on March 6 at the theatre at Windermere School. Tickets are £15 and include food and drinks. To book go to click here.
