The former Domino’s Pizza distribution warehouse in Penrith is on the market for a guide price of £1.5 million.

Colliers International is offering the premises, on the Gilwilly Industrial Estate, for sale.

The 28,632 sq ft unit was built in the early 2000s and is located on a 1.96 acre site on Cowper Road.

John Sullivan, director, industrial and logistics at the Manchester office of Colliers International, said: “The unit is in a prominent location on Gilwilly Industrial Estate and visible from the M6 motorway, with access from junction 40, within a few minutes drive.

"The unit represents a rare opportunity to purchase a freehold warehouse, which rarely come on to the market in this location.”

It includes 17,718 sq ft of warehouse space, 7,254 sq ft of production space and two-storey office space totalling 3,400 sq ft, parking for 30 cars and 14 heavy goods vehicles.

Domino's Pizza closed the distribution and production facility last year and moved it to new premises in Warrington.

It announced in July it was reviewing its operation and reduced shifts from the autumn.

It was thought it would close in March this year, but Domino's has already moved to its purpose-built production facility.

Around 60 jobs were lost with the closure.

At the time of the announcement, a spokesman said: "These changes are part of a national development programme across our manufacturing and distribution operations to support the growth of Domino’s business."

Domino's Pizza opened the Penrith site in 2002.
