Defence Secretary Gavin Williamson is due to visit West Cumbria next week.
Mr Williamson is scheduled to meet businesspeople, charity representatives and councillors in Copeland on Thursday.
The visit has been organised by Copeland MP Trudy Harrison.
Mr Williamson said: “I know what a lovely constituency it is and I am looking forward to seeing Trudy and her constituents.
“Trudy is a fantastic MP who is always campaigning for local issues. I want to thank the team in Trudy’s office for all the hard work that I know they have put into organising the day.”
Mrs Harrison added: “Across Cumbria we have so much to be proud off so I am delighted to be welcoming the Secretary of State to my constituency where I will be showcasing the role that Copeland plays in the defence of the realm whilst meeting with local charities, businesses and organisations.”
