Officers are investigating an alleged racially aggravated assault in the early hours of New Year's Day.
The victim - a man in his 20s - sustained minor facial injuries.
The incident is alleged to have taken place in Church Street in Carlisle, shortly after 2.30am.
Police would like to speak to two suspects:
*A man who was wearing a white shirt, aged late 20s, with brown hair, who is approximately 6ft 2ins in height.
*One other male was described as wearing a white hoody, but there was no further description.
Anyone with any information is asked to call PC 2695 REED on 101, quoting incident number 70 of January 1.
