A Cumbrian business has raised thousands for charity by auctioning the ultimate home cinema.

Majik House, based in Kirkby Lonsdale, put together the cinema, which it then sold - splitting the proceeds equally between the King’s Food Bank in Kendal and Cumbria Alcohol and Drug Advisory Service.

The firm was helped by Cumbria Community Foundation to choose the charities.

The company made the gesture to mark 20 years since founder Tim Burrow began the award-winning business in his attic.

The cinema was sold to a private buyer for £6,625.

It featured hardware from Rako, Control4, Velodyne and Yamaha fitted, programmed and designed by Majik House’s team of engineers.
