Businesses in South Cumbria are being given the opportunity to learn more about the new Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund next week.

Experts who provide debt and equity capital to businesses at all stages of their development will offer guidance and advice on how businesses can access some of the £191 million worth of funding that has been made available to companies based in the north of England.

FW Capital manages £102 million of the regional war chest, made specifically available to help SMEs grow utilising debt finance. FW Capital Investment Executive Maria Ramsdale has organised the event to emphasise the opportunities for businesses in Cumbria.

She said: “There is a significant amount of funding out there for SMEs, and given the make-up of the business landscape in Cumbria and the significant opportunities now and on the horizon, the NPIF really can help them kick on.”

The event will also include representatives from Furness Economic Development Forum, NatWest, Business Finance Solutions, Bibby Financial Services, Baines Wilson Solicitors, and Barrow Borough Council.

It will take place at Phoenix Business Centre Phoenix Court, Phoenix Rd, Barrow-in-Furness on Thursday, October 12 and includes a networking lunch and the chance to meet representatives from in-cumbria.
